More than just a cabin
The area around Ryekol offers much more than just the cabin itself. Here you will find campsites, a fire hut, a campfire area, a patrol hut, and the two shelters Nordlys and Afrika. This provides great opportunities for stays and activities in the open air — both for groups wanting to gather around the fire, and for those wishing to stay overnight close to nature.

Nordlys
Nordlys is Ryekol's oldest shelter, built in 1989–90, and is peacefully tucked away in the northeastern corner of the area. Here you get the feeling of true wilderness, surrounded by forest, open fields, and nature's idyll. The area offers both shelter and a campfire site, creating the perfect setting for connection, peace, and cozy experiences in nature. The shelter accommodates around 8-10 people.

The location offers a special feeling of being at the top of Ryekol, where nature opens up, and silence reigns. This invites for long, cozy evenings around the campfire, surrounded by bright birch woods and with the stars above. The shelter accommodates around 8-10 people.

Ryekol's fire hut is located close to the cabin and creates the ideal setting for cooking,
community, and activities outdoors. Here you can enjoy outdoor life year-round, with shelter from the wind and weather, yet still close to nature. The fire hut is a natural gathering point, where there is room for both quiet coziness and lively moments around the fire.

Patrol hut
The patrol hut is cozily situated between the cabin and Aases Plads, slightly set back in a quiet environment. It is an ideal place for patrol meetings, as a base for star trails, or as an activity area when shelter from wind and weather is needed. The possibilities are many and only your imagination sets the limits.

Campsites
Ryekol includes 7 campsites of various sizes, which are distributed throughout the area. Here there are great opportunities to set up camp in scenic surroundings, build with logs, prepare food over a fire and, in general, live the classic scouting life with plenty of outdoor activities and community.

The campsite is the perfect place to start or end your stay at Ryekol, surrounded by good friends and with the warmth of the fire to keep warm on cold nights. Nature, the open sky, and the scent of smoke create the perfect setting for any scouting trip.
